## What MRIPrices is

MRIPrices is a directory of MRI scans at US hospitals. Each listing page shows what we know about one hospital.

## Where the data comes from

We take records from the sources below.

- [CMS hospital roster via cms-hpt-tracker](https://github.com/anthonyisnotadev/cms-hpt-tracker). License: Public domain — U.S. federal government work. Data refreshed monthly.
- [CMS Provider of Services](https://data.cms.gov/provider-characteristics/hospitals-and-other-facilities/provider-of-services). License: Public domain — U.S. federal government work. Data refreshed every quarter.
- [Hospital machine-readable files](https://github.com/anthonyisnotadev/cms-hpt-tracker). License: Public files hospitals must publish (45 CFR 180). Data refreshed monthly.
- [E2E fixture (fictional)](https://github.com/pooriaarab/mriprices). License: Fictional records for automated tests only. Data updated by hand.

## A listing is a record, not an endorsement

A listing shows what we know about one hospital. It does not mean that we recommend it.

## How a listing is checked

A listing needs its name, street address and category to appear in search engines. It also needs a completeness score of 60 out of 100.

Our team reviews each new listing before it goes live.

An owner proves control of a listing with an email address on the business domain or a manual check by our team.

An owner change to the name, phone, website, street address, address line 2, city, region, postal code and country goes to review before it shows.

## Claim or correct a hospital

To claim a listing that is unclaimed, open it and select "Claim this listing".

To report a mistake, open the listing and select "Suggest a change".
